In short Im doing a series of paintings on war and just now Im working on a few of Vientam, Im doing a painting of this very famous Vientam photograph, perhaps THE most famous photograph but Im having a few problems...
The problem Im having is the lack of facial detail in the photograph. When I paint I always paint what I see but when I paint what I see here it looks stupid, Ive done most of the painting but Ive added my own detail to faces to make it look better however its not detail that is in the photograph and seeing the painting it looks stupid until you look at the actual photograph and then you say "actually....it does look like that" but all Ive got left to do is the boy in the foreground's face and main girl in the picture (plus the usual extra hour on detail....if there was any!) but Ive spent over 10 hours on it and Im not happy with it.
Any suggestions artists?
