For those who are not sure.

Measure the your tank in cm or inches. I'll assume inches.

Measure the width, measure the height and measure front to back. EG

36" by 12" by 18" (" means inches).

Times them all together for "cubic inches"

36*12*18 = 7776 cubic inches.

Then go to google.com and type as a search what you want eg

"cubic inches to litres"

If you word it like above google knows what you are after and at the top of the search page results gives you the calculation!

EG:

1 cubic inches = 0.016387064 litres

So to get litres for my imaginary tank you do

7776 * 0.016387064 = 127.425809664

So my imaginary tank is 127 litres

Hope that helps

Or, if you are really lazy (like me :) ), go to PFK magazine's tool page:

http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/pfk/...pages/tools.php

There is an Aqaurium volume calculator - note that it give UK gallons, but there is also an Aquarium units convertor at the top which allows you to convert from UK (Imperial) gallons to US gallons amongst many others.

Lots of other useful tools as well.
