Hi everyone!

I was just wondering how to calculate the size of my tank in gallons using the size of the width, length and height. Can anybody help me at all? I've had a look at the calculating link that has been pinned but still don't know how to do it! Also what is the difference between US gallons and UK ones???

Thanks

Its quite simple if u know the equation. Basically its...

Length x width x height = ? cm3

There are 1000cm3 to a litre

Now the bit i always get confused with...

There are 3.785 litres to a US gallo and...

There are 4.546 litres to a metric gallon.

Post your dimensions and ill tell you if u like

Yeah, multiplying the length/width/height of your tank will give you units in cubic (whatever you measured). So if you measure in cm, you'll get cubic centimeters, if you measure in inches, cubic inches, etc. Then you have to convert that volume into liters, US gal, or UK gal as you see fit. I find the website onlineconversion.com to be extremely useful for all manner of conversion ;) . You'd obviously be doing volume conversions

Right, I think I might have worked it out:

Length: 95cm
Width: 30cm
Height: 36cm

L x W x H: 102600cm3

102600cm3 / 1000cm3 = 102.6 litres which works out as 22.56 metric gallons????? Is this right anyone???

You are 100% correct sir. 22 UK gallons, 27 US gallons, or 102.6 liters.
