Ive got a normal calcium liquid test. You add 10 drops of bottle one, shake it, thewn keep on adding drops of number 2 until it turns blue.
After you shake it after bottle 1s been added, its pink in colour, but when you add a drop of bottle no 2 the top layer turns blue already, and when you keep adding it it doesnt hange too much. Do you have to shake it after you add one drop or something...im confused!
Thanks

I would guess you should not *shake* it but swirl it, its normal for the immediate area to buffer...

API test? Yes you have to shake it in the end but i normally dont shake until i get up to 340 ppm calcium, then i start shaking after every drop.

Yeah API, thank you both for your replies! Whats a good level, 400-500?

380-450

Just remember, the API test are pretty inaccurate.

Cool
I use the red sea salt with my RO and it has all the right pH buffers and calcium in it, so i dont use any added calcium liquids or iodine. Its 380 now and i did the water change on Tuesday, does this sound about right?
Cheers Musho
