just started a new job dealing with chemicals and it turns out i can have loads of free calcium chloride for free so and tips on making my own calcium supplement would be great and dosing IE how much and how often, obviously stop when there is enough in there! i have read randy Holmes Farley's recipe and it seems pretty easy. its not something I'm gonna be Doing at the moment as i don't have an alkalinity or Ph test kit, but all the info i can gather would be great.

Adding only calcium is a bad idea. You have to dose both calcium and alkalinity as imbalances between the two can lead to crashes of both that are very detrimental to the tank. I'd suggest picking up an alk tester and some baking soda and using Randy's recepie :D

yeh i was kinda onto that like i said but randy recipie is good? how do you go about dosing in general how long does it take how often do you need to do it? obviously ths depends alot on the demand for calcium but lets just say an averaged stocked 90us gallon tank with lps and a couple of clams say? ...just a some ball park figures
