Been trying the fishless cycling for 3 weeks now.

Just done water tests - ammonia 0, nitrites 0.1, nitrates 50.

Are the nitrites low enough??

Can I do a water change... and does this mean I can get some fish this weekend?

Your nitrAtes are not too bad but aim for 30ish, certainly under 40. Doing a water change will get rid of them and adding live plants will help.
