Is this a good idea? How do you ship a fish via mail and not have it die? I was just curious how one goes about packing a fish and what company one would use to ship it. I work at one of the major US shipping companies and I see how packages can be treated... I'd not want to spend big bucks to see a fish box get thrown.

Many online retailers have an 'arrive alive' policy. So if anything happens to your fish while they are being transported you can either get them replaced or get your money back.

It's usually in their best intrest to have fish survive the journey so they don't have to pay to replace them.

I once asked the same question on another forum and was told that it is reliable to buy fish on line, but when it comes to delivery prices it's...YICKES! There is one place I found which has a good selection of fish and excellent fish (just fish) prices, but they require you to buy minimum $30 at one time and the shipping for that amount is $25. Are there any other reliable places on the internet with better delivery charges?
