what are a few cheap types of chichilids, i am going to start a 75 gallon in the near future, i want colorful, and that they get big.
SUGGEST AWAY!!! :)

How about Lake Malawi Haplochromines (like Otopharynx lithobates, Copadichromis spilonatus, Sciaenochromis fryeri......) and Aulonocaras (peacocks).

EDIT: Expensive as adults when they color up -- but as juviniles you should be able to get them for much much less.

You could start with the basics. Red Zebras or Kenyis. I would stay away from auratuses. They tend to be kinda aggresive

If big and colorful is what you want then I agree that Haplichromines are the way to go. Just make sure you do the research on what species you are getting, many will easily outgrow a 75 gallon tank.
