I would like to get a Plec for my tank when I get it and I am just wondering how much a Plac can cost?
What I have seen they can cost 25 British Pounds. Is this correct.

Also are they easy to find in pet and fish shops?

Thanks,
Dana

Even around my area, they are easy to obtain... for a reasonable size,... ( 15cm up) I would expect to pay more or less R150.... (To the british pound, this is about 10 pounds......)

it depends on how big your tank is and what specie.

as you cant keep a common pleco in a 20 gallon for its life, and common plecos can cost pennies

yea, you really need to look into plecos more. there are hundreds upon hundreds of different plecos... maybe even thousands! the price for a pleco can rage from something like £3 to £300 (lol) depending on the species.
they are a fantastic fish to research into too :good:

i have herd of some plecs going in the region of £3000 inn germanu but that was a fully grown adult blue eyed panaque wicj are a nightmare to find i have only seen 2 in 3 years yesterdayi saw a inch and a half zebra going for £150 i was tempted it depends what your after thoe but if you do decide to get one do a lot of reserch as some have verry specific requirments and if you are after a big common plec then dont pay any mre than a tenner as shops struggle to sell them due to there size

Ah I see...
Theres a website I use to shop for different types o fish and to see their "specs"
Priness pleco (L236) is very nice. It needs 200 Litres and my tank will be 200 Litres. And at 12cm ts a nice size.

little info on the 'priness' HERE never herd it called that before but its a very nice looking plec indeed :)

y not go for a couple of bristlenose plecs i have 2 in my 55gal with cichlids such as a jack dempsey they grow around 6" and do not really need any special requirents except what you would care for any fish and above all that they only really cost between £2-£5
