The Potassium seems to stop hole disease on Java fern and Hygrophyllas. I do feed 28 fish and including a herd of 4-6" Rainbow fish all they can eat as my aquarium also has a huge clump of Syngonium growing hydroponically along with with wall to wall aquarium plants.

Can I put banana peel in my tank for that? Not a whole one, just a little. Maybe reolace the small piece of peel weekly with water changes?

Is that... Safe? What scares me is the words "gluconate" and "pills"... How much are they?

The bottle? About $6 at any health store or market that carries all that stuff. I use about 3 pills per my 240 gallon. Seems to be right. Like one pill per 70 gallon.

Well Steven,I now see what you mean. I did eventually have the EDTA cloud the water-something that never happened with Seachem. I put back in the carbon sock and today the water looks fine and the sock rust colored.
I will use less but more often? Eventually I will order what you posted and use what I have for garden plants.

I went over the Seachem website and they said the EDTA is only absorbed by roots ( hence my Ozelot sword plants explosion of larger leaves) and not so good or at all by epiphytes.
I could have read all this before buying..but until you do,you don't really understand.
I am glad there is no fish poisoning if you exceed the dose..and stop.
