They are not a plec :)

They are known by many names such as borneo loaches or hill stream loaches (and if I could find the artical, that are not loaches either  )

Anyway... they stay small 2" max. they actually prefer cooler water than most tropical fish (low 20's ºC) and they need well oxygenated fast flowing current.

they use their fins to stick to the glass and smooth stones that are found in the rivers they live in. they uses their tail to swim...

The L052 is the common one, great little plec that doesnt get over 6". Eats algae well aswell.

But as said, what is *usually* sold as a butterfly plec is actually a type of hillstream loach or "stonesucker" as they are otherwise commonly known.

I've been trying to get one of the L ones for over a year now. Seems impossible for my LFS to get them.
