bustle nose plecs

juts scopeing out my oppsions? is that "just scoping out my options"?

There are quite a few species of bristlenose plecs, most don't get very big at all. An ideal algaevore for a smaller tank.

lol yea thats what i meant, sry about that i was really tired wen i typed that. but what i meant was bustlenosed plecs, i saw them in mt lfs and they are kinds goofy looking. large fat heads and a normal pleco tail, u know what im talking ab -_- out?

Dude, do you proofread what you type? Is that all english?

If you're asking about bristlenose or bushynose (it's quite honestly hard to tell from your posts), there are 20 or 30 species of them, but very few get over 4 inches, and of those, I've only ever seen 2 types available in the hobby, and they were quite a bit more expensive than an average Ancistrus.

Barbie

Also, are you planning to keep them in your 10g? If that is the case, I don't recomend to add them as not only they grow too large, they produce alot of mess - IMO, too much for a 10g tank...

ok forget the 10g, that was not a mistype, my local fish store has these new plecs called bustel nosed plecos. ( bustel nose ) that wasn't a retype. have any of u heard of them?

and barbie, no i didn't proof read that post, i was tired, and thats how i typed it, if u cant read it, dont bother helping me

Aaaaargh!

Bustle nose plecs... no such thing!
Sounds like a classic case of bad LFS labeling to me.

hmm...posibly, but can u atleast help identify them? they were about 2and a half inches long and had these huge heads ( no bristles, juts a normal sucking mouth ) their eyes seemed to be toward the top of their heads and were very small. thye were also a light brownish color and had small wiskers pertrudeing from its mouth. ( kinda like a cory ) -_-

Sounds very generic - pretty much all plecos look like that, except for the last sentence... Did it have bristles all the way around their mouth?

i have a common plec right now and it look nothing like this -_- , no, it just had these 2 pair of petrudeing wiskers comeing off of each side of its mouth.

Ok, you should take the picture and post it here... ;)

Could still be a bristlenose. Most bristlenoses have the huge head you described, some like ancistrus ranunculus are just a head with a tail fin at the back!

Female bristlenoses often have no, or almost no bristles.
