From the name you give I think you are referring to Botia Kubotai, they do better when kept in groups preferably 5+ and can reach 5" so personally I would recommend a 30 gallon. The more space they have the more you will see the true character of the fish.

do you guys think this loach would be a good addition to a (as yet species tank) with indian Redtripe Barbs (punctius Dennisoni)?
