I added extra gravel to my tank over a week ago while doing a 'little aqua-scaping' but noticed about ten minutes ago that a neon was buried under 4 inches of gravel, :hyper: realising I must have just carelessly piled it in ontop of him I got my net ready to scoop him out (asuming having been trapped under the gravel for 10 days he would be dead) but as I moved the gravel he was moving.

He seems quite happy considering his ordeal but he is a bit dented, the other neons have welcomed back their prodical son but has anyone ever experienced anything similar and will he always have the dent in his side or will he 'pop back into shape'?

he might always have the dent?Have you treated him
Give him some stress coat

once noticed one of my tetras was upside down under my plecostumus, thought he was dead but after a few mins he shot off and was fine, but a week what a survivor :flex:

Im due a water change but he seems tip top, I was going to do a water change and maybe treat it with some methylene blue but Ive not used it before, do you use it?

Im always in the "if it aint broke, dont fix it" way of thinking with my tank and since everyone seems okay so I might just see how he gets on.

I would post a photo on to show you but Ive got a moon glow bulb in which makes the tank look fantastic its rubbish for taking photos.

Poor thing what a tough little fish, just keep a close eye on him, bless him.

That's the kind of fish that'll live through anything....

Many many years ago when I had a little 5 gallon hex, I had maybe 6 or 7 fish in it, and as time went on I neglected it and neglected it... sometimes weeks between feedings... then maybe after 6 months of that, there was one fish left... I finally decided to revamp the aquarium and bring it back to life. That fish lasted forever... What a trooper.

But 10 days buried?! My god. You better get him some fantastic food or something for living through that

He also survived my wife adding shells to the tank while I was away once, she did boil them but they just disolved in the space of 24 hours and you could see NOTHING.......out of 14 neons 2 survived because of the pH, got 8 more but the original 2 were alot bigger, thats how I knew it was one of the original ones that was 'trapped under the rubble'
