One of my female Bettas has two bumps on either side of her head, above the gills. I don't know exactly what they are or what's causing it though I suspect it might be consitpation. She's still big and I don't find as much mess on the bottom of her jar as I do the other female who was equally fat though she has slimmed down to normal since going on this forced diet.

Any ideas? These are uniformly on the sides so if it was a parasite (which I can't explain how she'd get them) then they lined up nearly perfect on either side of the head.

My two plakats have them sticking up on both sides of their heads... I think it's just a bone in their skull. They've had them since i got them. I'm not sure what it is but it doesn't seem to be bothering them.

I don't think you should worry to much :)

I would go with Auratus's suggestion not to worry. If she is not showing any other sign of illness leave her be as medicating without a proper reason can be harmful.

She seems fine otherwise so I'm not overly worried, more curious as to what it is. If it's harmless though, then I won't worry, still curious what though. :)
