Bumblebee gobies

They require Brakish Water with a salt content, so they cannot live with any FW fish.

not true! mine lived for nearly a year with out salt.......

What happened after a year?

There are two species that are commonly sold as bumblebee gobies, the true bumble gobie Hypogymnogobius xanthozona which is a brackish fish and can be identified by its dark bands which run around the entire body, and the golden banded goby Brachygobius doriae which can be identified by the dark bands which stop at the fishes underbelly and can tolerate freshwater and brackish water.

I would expect your firemouths to eat the gobies.

after a year i wanted big fish so i sold them for there own good......here in aus we got bumblebee catfish wich get preety big.......maybe those are the brakish ones.

I know of no Bumblebee Catfish that can live in Brakish water and I currently keep two speices; Pseudomystus siamensis and Microglanis iheringi. I also know of Batrochoglanis raninus, Pseudopimelodus bufonis, Pseudomystus aff. leiacanthus and Microsynodontis batesii and to my knowledge none of these are Brakish fish? Which species do you see in Australlia?

As CFC the most common species of Bumblebee Gobies is Brakish water so I am assuming thats what Silva has if not could you inform which fish it is from CFC descriptions?

Errrm no both are goby species as the "gobius" part of the name suggests.

Bumblebee catfish Microglanis iheringi and Pseudopimelodus raninus raninus are both members of the south american Pimelodidae family and do not tolerate brackish water at all.

well then i dont know wat the hell ur talking about

these are the ones we got

EDIT: are these the brakish ones?

Yes that is the true bumble gobie Hypogymnogobius xanthozona, they are the brackish ones.

sorry to interupt, but i have got a question...

are Bea/\/ and silver fishy the same person? to me it's sounding like they are -_-

could somebody please calrify?

definitely a brackish water fish!

some fish can tolerate living in FW if it's a BW fish, or BW if it's FW, etc. but these fish will tend to have a short miserable life.

suspicious! If I am correct that means they are posting from the same computer, which means you are more than friends. :)
