I have two South American Bumble bee cats. I was thinking about putting them in a 29, adding a few more, and trying to breed them. Does anyone know if it's possible? Has it been done? I'm assuming soft water, lots of plants and other hiding places. What other ways can I improve the odds of them spawning? What is the best substrate for small cats? Thanks in advance.

I don't think that it has ever been succesful in home aquaria. They're lovely fish, I didn't see mine much though when I had him.

Not bred them myself so I can't help on that score. Sustrate wise I'd opt for sand. I'd recommend finding out as much as you can about the species before trying any breeding programme. Best of luck.
Hugs,
P.

Only managed to find one article on breeding Microglanis, not sure but it might be of some help!

Thanks for the help. I tried the google route, and I didn't come up with much. The link from BettaUK was better than anything I found! I always thought most catfish if given the room, diet, and correct water, will spawn. Maybe these ones are a little diferent.
