I've been researching different dog breed because I would like to get a dog by the end of this year. I can across a website that listed Bull Boxers as a mix of Boxer and a bull breed, usually Amstaff but also counts for other bullies, and it said they usually get along great with kids and other dogs, (of course we all know they have their own personality, but I don't want a really overly grumpy dog lol, I have my mom :shifty: ) Anyhoo, has anyone ever kept a boxer mix, and what was it mixed with? How are they if their socialized? I really want a mix with boxer in it as they are really sweet. I know boxers don't live as long as some bigger breeds, but does this count for a mix too?

I came across a boxer/rottie puppy at the shelter once, god how I wish I could have adopted him..... :-( Alas, no go...

My boyfriend wants us to get a boxer but as much as i love them they are prone to problems i know 3 different boxers and they all have had leg problems mainly the ligament which all run up high vets bills and is worrying -_- Boxers tend to live about 10 years if you get a good one not sure on a cross breeds but they tend to normally live a lot longer as usually have less problems as a mix of genetics, goodluck if you get a doggy :)

Stagette is right crossbreeds do tend to live longer and have less problems due to the bigger gene pool(if dat makes any sense)Boxers are great family pets but are quite energetic!

Lol, good! My mom got me a dog when I was nine, but the dog was one that really believed in the pack mentality, she would only go hiking with my mom, which was a real disappointment since I had grown up around dogs that were always ready for a hike. Nothing like trying to be one with the world only to turn around and find your dog had snuck off to go back home and hang out with your mom.... :/ I swear, that dog was more my moms dog than mine, she didn't want to go anywhere without her.

I figure it would be a mouthy type considering the breeds in it, so lots of strong chew toys would be in order right? Are they big shedders?

And do they (boxers) really get ear infections more so than a lot of other breeds?

I've never heard about boxers getting a lot of ear infections so not sure but i do know they make great pets as know a few :)
