What would be the best way to add more watts to a tank? Is there a better bulb, because when you got a 15in hood you can only seem to get 14 watt bulbs for the size. Any suggestions?

Perhaps my post didn't make sense? I need more watts for my tank, as of right now I only have 14 watts for a pretty deep tank. What would be the best way to add more watts, to just get another hood so I have twice the wattage? Or perhaps there is a better bulb I can get. The hood supports 14in bulbs.

You can get either more bulbs i.e 14 watts x 3 Or

Get some T5 compact bulbs (you also need a special starter unit)

for example ive got a 3 16 inch bulbs and they each have 36 watts! campare that with standard lights which are 18 inch and 15 watts

Those are like $350 aren't they. Or do you put the bulbs in some other fixtures?

Those are only 10 watts each so not very well

No they were only a little bit more than regular bulbs

I paid £12.99 each for the bulbs and £17.99 each for the starter units
