bugs and things in my tank

Hi,

I've been cycling since 16th March and I'm still waiting for the Nitrites to return to zero.

I planted the tank on Saturday and last night I noticed a worm like thing and another bug that I think may be daphnia

I think the worm thing might be planaria:

Is this normal? I guess when I have fish they'll eat them. But just wondered if they came from the plants (in the article is says planaria transfer on plants) or did they come from thin air?

hi there,

daphnia will be a lovely treat for your fish when they get in there!

there is an article somewhere on this site to do with those worms. try a search on 'white worms' or something similar.

they are pretty harmless and usually appear when there has been overfeeding in a tank. a few days of not feeding them and they will go away. i expect theyve been attraced my some part of the cycle. your fish will help to clear them up too!
