I recently found out the hard way that buenos aires tetra can be agressive towards bothe Zebra Danios and Siamese Fighter's as my Buenos Aires Tetra killed two danios and the siamese and ate out their insides.

Just thought i should warn anyone who is planning getting them to be careful. Maybe ok in bigger tanks but not good for small starter tanks.

has anyone else had this problem?

I have had some albino buenos aires tetras for a while now (although I used to have 8 and now only 2 because of a recent bout of illness). They have always schooled together and played with each other, not really bothering anyone else in the tank. Sometimes my loaches even school with them. Do you have enough tetras? Maybe I just lucked out...

Hi Nikki,

A few questions.

What size tank do you have? :dunno:

How many of each fish did you have? :dunno:

What's left in the tank? :dunno:

I assume by Siamese fighters you mean bettas. A school of cory cats or a couple of African Dwarf Frogs make great tankmates for these incredible fish.

I would avoid keeping them with danios, barbs, tetras, and other fin nipping fish.

Like previously said, those fish must be kept in larger schools or they will take out their aggression on slower tankmates.

:)
