I have 2 budgies Jack and Jill.

Jacks quite a old boy about 10 years and he couldn't fly from Birth.

Jills relatively young to jack maybe 3-4 years flies fine and both tame.

I'ved noticed that Jack has a very nice smooth rounded cere but Jills it's sort of rough and mis shapened slightly.

I will try to get a picture of them tonight but Jill flies off when I bring a camera into the situation.

Any ideas why it's like that?

yes,
females ceres go a sort of brown colour with a "crusty" appearance and feel to them when they are ready (or rather it is time) to uhhhh.... "make babies"
if you gave them a breeding box about now you would end up with eggs
but do not try this unless you are truley dedicated, knowledgable and fully capable of raising young
they are a big responsibility

Oh right I knew the colours but didn't know about it looking like a crusty bogger!!

I don't think my males up to it, I'ved given my birds nesting boxes before and never had babies :(
