Sorry to post this but i dont think anyone will reply to my fluval filter question unless they have had one,

I just need to quickly know, should a filter emit water or bubbles, at the moment i just have a stream of water which is causing little waves, but should this be a shoot of bubbles instead??

Thanks in advance

See answer to other post :)

Simply it doesn't matter which you have - with bubbles will provide more surface agitation which slightly increases your apparent surface area which in theory should help your tank dissipate chemicals/pick up oxygen/keep fish alive...In practice in a big tank I doubt this is a big deal.

I prefer no bubbles on the filter as it looks better - I'm going to add an airstone 'bubble column' anyway and the two sets of bubbles clash...

Miranda:

The filter will give out bubbles if the outlet is a little above the water line.
