Hello all

I have had my live rock in my tank for nearly a week now and tonight i have noticed lots of little air bubbles all over it, any idea's whats causing this and is it a problem?

Thanks

Dont worry about it. It is most likely just the algae giving off oxygen. In planted tanks its called "pearling" and it happens when the plants (or in this case algae) photosyntheses and gives off oxygen. Once your cycle is done and you get your CuC in there to take care of the algae they will go away.

Hello all

Thanks very much for the reply's here, its good to know that the bubbles are normal, they happened fairly quickly and i was'nt really sure what to make of it, although now you mention the pearling, i have seen it in freshwater before.

Thanks
VM
