Hi,

I recentely put in a air pump with a stone in my 10 gallon tank. I put it in there only for look, but I am concerened that maybe its unhealthy to have TOO many bubbles, so much so that about 1/2 the top of the tank has bubbles at the top of it, is this ok? Also I have about 2hrs of direct sunlight on the tank, in parts of it, and was wondering if they extra oxygen in the tank from the air pump could cause an algae bloom? would taking the air stone off help decrease teh amount of air getting into the tank?

Thanks for any help!

How long ahs the tank been set up? The "extra" bubbles may be due to other factors. In and of themselves, bubbles are not going to hurt your tank, so don't worry about that. Also, keep in mind the bubbles themselves do not add any oxygen to the tank, it is the agitation of the surface caused by the bubbles.

I'd be more concerned about your up and coming algae explosion. Actual direct sunlight will green up your tank in a surprisingly short amount of time.
