my newy adopted betta Frank was a complete brat at first. he decided to go on a little hunger strike and not eat anything at all. won't yak on and on, essentially, I finally got him to eat freeze dried bloodworms (although he stared at them for about ten minutes before testing them out, and then spat them out multiple times before actually eating). now he's building himself what I believe is a bubblenest. I know next to nil about them. his is basically just a collection of bubbles around the edge of his bowl on the surface of the water. is not that big, just looks like bubbles that rose to the surface and failed to pop.
what I know about bubblenests (or think I know)
--for breeding, yes?
--made of air bubbles and saliva
--usually near a plant
--on the surface on the water
see? not much. Frank's a bachelor, so I'm wondering if he just kinda likes having a bubblenest to hide under, or if there's something more complicated and unbeknownst to me going on. any tips? 'twould be much appreciated. I'm not really worried or fretting or anything, simply curious.
ps- I think Frank's silly, and very cute. hehe, "bubblenest"
