Bubblenest

Ok. I got a 2 gal. with only a male betta. Now, his second day in the tank he made a bubble nest. Now, I dont have anyplans on breeding him, or anything like that. Is this common?

my betta has been in my house less than half a day and blew a bubble nest that cover the whole tank
