bubble nest

Hey

i had a betta in a 0.5 gal and he made a buble nest so i put him in my 1.5 gal and some of it poped but hes rebuilding it. why is he doing this and if i get a female now will he mate with it and how many females must i get for him?

He is happy. Don't try and breed any fish unless you do a lot of research on it, because it will end in tears if you don't.

this is normal male fighting fish make bubble nest when they are happy.. not only when they want too breed.. but if you did want to breed all you need is one female. but u have to condition the male and her for atleast a week before u start breeding

conditioning means feeding them live foods or frozen meats. I use frozen bloodworm but what ever your betta likes best will be fine i suggest u read the pinned topic at the top of the betta forum

kool thank. i moved him back into the 0.5 and nwo theres bubbles covering his whole bowl

glad to here that... wat food does he eat? he sounds like a happy little guy ... mine make bubble nest too but only usualy when they see a female betta or another male or i give them blood worm

i duno.......hes not in veiwing range of my other bettas i havent cleaned hgis bowl since 2 days ago......dont know.....wat do u think?

i raised the water level? dou think thats it?

its proberly the water change, ive got this book and it says once the betta starts to get really lazy give it a water change and it will liven up, so thats proberly it.
