hi

I have a brown/green gunk build up over the last couple of days on my gravel, ornaments and fake plants even on the glass a bit and spray bar it has appeared rather quick.

I think it maybe the light is on too much i dont have a timer yet been needing to get one, sometimes the light is on for quite some time over 12hrs some points. I dont think its over feeding as i dont feed loads to my fish but dont give them hardly anything at the same time.

I will get a timer next week how long should i have the lights on for?

Thanks

Lights are generally kept on for between 6 to 10 hours, but this depend on what kind of lights you have and tank size, types of plants  and if you do ferts etc

Lights are generally on for around 10 hours a day as far as I know.

My tank is 180l 3foot juwel vision with 2 juwel high light bulbs. Think one is the day bulb and other is a nature bulb. Dont have any real plants there all fake. Will proberly just keep then on for 10 hours then. Thanks for the info

Anytime. Just scrub it off if you can and reduce light time.
