i dont know if hes eating ive had him for a month and a half or 2 and hes still as active as always but there r no more feeder guppies going missing and i dont think hes getting any of the blood worms or flakes how do i know if hes eating and how do i make sure hes getting food

have a look at his belly. just behind the head, should be fat, well..... not fat but not pulled in. these can go quite a while without food so don't worry to much. he may be geting blood worm. my black ghost eats bloodworm and beefheart although I'd stick to bloodworm for now. try feeding him just after lights out and he may feel more comfortable coming out to feed at night.

ste :)

my black ghost knife eats sinking pellets!

it's not for him but he swallowed it and swam right back to his little cave

thanks for all your help i was going to sell him but i think ill keep him and buy some sinking pellets what kind should i use?

I dont think sinking pellets are the best idea.there not thatr great for a knife jsut a suggestion.Maybe you can feed him sinking pellets and some bloodworms butr i wouldnt justy do pellets

don't get him sinking pellets, like I said, it was for the bottom dwellers but he stole the pellets from them. my bgk steals algae disc too

here is a pic of my 20 gallon tank, my black ghost knife's cave is a little bit to the right of the amazon swords (the plant in the middle) usually I stick my hand in and put some plankton or blood worm around his cave (since freeze dried food will float) and it'll come out to feed

Loveless, you will need a bigger tank for the BGK soon and Clown Loach and Pictus.

hmmm.... how could i make the freeze dried bloodworms sink could i put them inside his clay pot i will try to get a picture in the next week or so and is there any household foords that i could try like vegtables or meats?

perky, get off my nuts

tdins_2, you can try turkey baster to for feeding bloodworm but I personally find that messy and inefficient since most of the bloodworm get stuck inside the turkey baster when I do it slowly, and if I do it too fast I'd scare the fishes. Try your hand by the cave trick first, I read that it's actually possible to train knifes to feed from your hand but it takes time. Search for it.
