Hi all, i have noticed that my tank has started to form a brown like substance on the glass and ornaments then the last two days i have lost two fish and this afternoon there is another looking sick any idears please.

Well the platys were fine the other day then dead the next could not see anything obvoius with them it just seems that the small fish are sick.

the brown stuff is probably diatoms. These are completely harmless for your fish, though it might look ugly. The cause for your fishes deaths are something else... what are your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate readings
