Good day,

I recently noticed that my nice button polyps started to loose their colors become kinda white, and today my wife told me that they covered in some brown ugly stuff. I have not seen them yet.
Anybody has a clue what it might be?
I have 2 of them and 2 of them feeling the same. I was dosing my water with ALk and Ca, but its at normal level now, Alk abut 4meq and Ca around 450ppm.

Thank you for your help.

Could be a brown jelly infection :(. Either way, as they're normally voracious eaters, when brown button polyps stop eating, that's usually a very bad sign

Oh, no big deal, relax :) That's the coral expelling zooxanthellae. Looks like you've been blasting them with some really high light? If you over-light a coral comparatively to where it previously came from, it will spit out zooxanthellae like that. 95% of the time it's nothing to worry about

Thank you, you saved my day, I was so upset almost finished my Cognac :)
Yes I had them for about 8 month under the Compact lights, now I have MHO 150W, polyps located apx at the bottom of the tank.
I tried to move them but no success they have already attached to the main rock. So I just can remove them if needed completely by killing them or
leave it and see what happens.

Thanks for your help.

Nah, leave them. They're stressed for now, but will get a good tan and be just fine

Good day,

Its been some time already after what u see on the picture they stoped ijecting this stuff and now I would say 70% of the colony completely closed day and night. Not sure probably they are all dead? I was thinking to remove them complete from the tank.

What do u think guys. How long it can take them to ajust to the light?

Thank you

Hummm, well it can take weeks sometimes even a month, there's not much you can do for em other than keep your fingers crossed though.

Ive had palys that got pretty stressed after a clown decided to host them. They stayed closed for nearly a month...maybe a few would open up and then alternate but the majority of the colony stayed closed. They are now doing fine and growing like crazy. Definitely nothing to worry about. It's pretty hard to kill zoas and palys.

Really? month, wow I wanted to remove them before they will died in the tank but if as u saying they might be alright I will probably leave them for some time.
I also noticed that my clowns got black dots again. last time they got sting byt the daisy coral, probably now they were trying to host polyps. I will lleave them in the tank and keep an eye on them.

Thank you for your help.
