Brown and Green Algae

I have a plec in my tank but recently (last 2 days) I've noticed green and brown algae growing on my tank. Do I just need to get an algae scrubber and wipe it off once a week or whenever I need to ir what?

Your water probably needs more frequent changing. I would scrap off the algae and then do more frequent partial water changes to keep the water quality up.

I also have a plec in my tank - the last time he ate any algae was when he was about 1.5 inches small He is now about 7-8 inches big and won't touch the stuff. Why should he work for his supper when he gets algae wafers, veggies and frozen food in abundance
