Brown Alge Or Blanket Weed

Hi guys .
My tank still cycling ( fishless ) seems to be slowly moving , but my question today is that everything is slowly getting covered in brown fluffy substance like fine hair but brown.is this harmfull to the plsnts i have in the tank and is there anything i can do while tank cycling ie ( take it out #) to stop it killing my plants .thanks Greg
