I thought my cories were just being playful earlier, then i saw 3' T-barring' (is that correct?) but still thought nothing of it, then 1 seem kinda plump and thought he/she had just eaten too much.

Am I starting to sound dumb yet

Then I noticed 6 spots on the tank side, found the female who was hidden and squeezing eggs out, then watched her find a place beside the filter and she laid 8 more.

They are still doing their dance, zipping all around the tank.

What do I do

can scrape them off the glass, i use a credit card some ppl use razor blades, put them into a separate tank/baby trap (keeping in mind most have holes so baby fish can get out) making sure they have a air line, will hatch in about 3 days then will be feeding a couple of days after i think, they are born with a yolk sack. Few tops in this section with discussions about cory eggs/fry :good:

I managed to get about 15-20 eggs out, the rest I have left. I wasn't prepared for this at all but next time I will be.

Lets see if I can hatch these eggs :good:

i wasnt ready when my first spawned and i saved all of them, about 100 eggs

lol good luck its fun watching them grow

Good luck with the eggs :good:

They can be hard work to rear fry,but all good fun to see them growing everyday and zipping around :)

Thanks :good:

Today I noticed 4 had turned white. so i removed them. The others have gone a yellowish color, is that right?

They are in a margarine tub, fitted in the breeder's trap, with a small airline strapped in, tiny airflow but it's the best I can do for now.

Is it 3 days, that it takes the eggs to hatch?

Hi BethK :)

Three or four days is about right, depending on the temperature.

Hi BethK :)

21 to 27 C. (69 to 80) is the normal range for C. aeneus. The fry would even be fine at a lower temperature than you presently keep them.
