It's been an interesting couple of days. Yesterday I moved the delphax and ambiacus over to the 20g cory tank, so the only cory in my 55g are bronze and albino. Well, darned if they aren't spawning all over the place!! I think I've got about 50 in a small net dangling under the outflow in the 20g and they all look viable. I think what I might do is get my 5g up and running (I have the HOB filter in my tiger tank running just for times like this) and move the eggs and some java moss filled with RCS to keep the eggs tidy and see what happens. The only time I've ever had wrigglers is when I hatched the eggs in the small tank, so let's see what happens!

It was SO cool a little while ago ... watching the albino mama carrying a clutch of eggs between her fins on the bottom, wiggling into the T position, then she laid them on the glass. LOVE it!!

Brilliant news following the trouble with your Tiger Barbs!

Keep us updated, with photos of course ;)

I guess you'll have less need of my pandas then...

  Congrats.

NO! I still want your pandas!!! Trade you for some bronze?

I'm sticking to the species I have for now.  If you have some leopards, I'd trade for them though. ;)

I wish I did. I have peppers, longfin peppers, delphax and ambiacus.

Well, I decided to set up my 5g tank to get these eggs to hatch. It's the only way that's worked so far, so I thought I'd try it. This time I nabbed the eggs and put them in my small net with a bit of java moss for them to stick to. I've got a bigger bunch of java moss in the tank, and I added a few cherry shrimp to keep the eggs clean. The net is positioned so it catches the flow from the filter, but if they hatch while I'm not looking they can get out easily enough. *crossing fingers*

Just out of curiosity, I just counted the clutches of eggs in the 55g. 18!!! And those are the ones I can see! Each of those has at least 20 and up to probably 100 eggs each. Crazy town, I'm tellin' ya!

Which are the 3 in your sig photo? They're lovely.

Good luck with the eggs :)

Those are my delphax, which I just moved with the single ambiacus to my 20g yesterday. Somehow I think that started the whole thing!

Well, well, well. Wonders never cease.
Congrats on the eggs, keep an eye out, I am sure there are unseen eggs, and perhaps a wriggler will pop out unknown.
Guess the bronze and albinos are more comfy cozy now.
I agree, watching mama with a clutch of eggs is pretty neat.

There is a clutch of eggs on the back glass that I left alone, then covered it with java moss to protect it. You just never know.

I've had a lot of "luck" with that method...  A lot less stress too.  No multiple feedings per day.  No daily water changes.  No worry about the eggs getting fungus.

I just thought I'd try both methods and see if I get any wrigglers anywhere. I'm hopeful about the fry tank with the shrimp working in there. I'll know by next Tuesday!

Congratulations and good luck :) It's an exciting moment. I am sure you'll get some wigglers to get ready..

I hope so! It's been two days, and the eggs have darkened a bit and now I can see dots inside them! So far, so good.
