I know Brochis species are not corydoras, but this seemed to be the section where I found threads on this species the most, since they are so closely related.

I saw these at a LFS for pretty cheap and they looked nice, $3.99 a fish. The owner said they were wild caught, but people will say anything. They are about 3 inches long and pretty heavy bodied. They dwarf the Corydora peleatus and aeneus I also have. I was looking for another bottom feeder for my planted 36g, so I said why not? I believe I purchased Brochis splendens, I counted 10-12 rays anyway in it's dorsal, whereas Brochis multiradiatus has 17. Some pictures for confirmation. I have a group of 5.

They are adjusting extremely well to this tank (after a slow acclimation) and are really enjoying the hiding places. I enjoy watching them barrel their way through the tank, a lot less delicate. The store owner regularly gets a lot of catfish and had some of the rarer corydoras in his stock list. He's going to look for some C. pygmeaus for my nano tanks.

Thanks for looking.

Yep, those are B. splendens. They are a great fish and you will really enjoy watching them, especially feeding time. Mine go crazy when I feed them frozen bloodworms.

Here is a picture of 2 of mine:

I could have bought some of these last year but I only had a 60ltr tank then. I would love some now, they would really keep the sand turning in my newly aquascaped tank.

I have just ordered a batch of these. I have also ordered Hi-Fin brochis which i have no idea what they are and cant seem to find any pics on the net either. Nevertheless, they will be here wednesday:)

There are some hi fin species of wild catfish, etc., but mostly they are not natural in the wild and are bred for the attribute. I have not heard of hi fin Brochis. Be sure to post pics for us. I have been acquiring a variety of hi fins.
