Hi,

About a year ago I purchased a brittle star and although I dont see it often (dont think its dead), I have found a small baby brittle star lodged under one of the sucker cups attached the the side of the tank. My question is, can they reproduce by them selves and what quantity of young do they have. Obviously some more would potentiallly benefit the tank but too many- who knows.

Many thanks for the answers

Brittle stars are common hitchhikers on live rock, if it has a considerable size difference to the one you bought, then I doubt they are related, could be wrong though.
