I picked up 2 Bristlenose's today. From a Local Breeder. They are full grown. I have 1 male and 1 female. I only paid 5 dolalrs a piece for them! They are in a 20g Flat Hexagon. Is that okay? I have pics!

Price sounds reasonable. I doubt they are a proven breeding pair though for so little money. Best of luck if that is your intention :D

i had three adult pairs of bristlenoses, one pair breed often, another pair never bred with me, but once i sold them they bred (typical) and the other pair never bred as far as i know at all. All you can do is wait and see. di

i dont think she actually ment the were breeding pair justt hat come from a breeder ...... look nice hun i would try get hold of another adult female and have the 2.1 ratio will give u a much better chance of breedering if this is the plan :)

^ Ummmm, im a He. He said they may breed, it just depends. I do have some PVC in there for them, if they want to breed. He does Breed Alibno's also ( there were probably 100 fry in a tank at his house). But when he caught theese Bristlenose's, there was another pair in their that had just layed eggs. So im hopeful, but if they dont breed, they still look cool!

OOOps sorry m8!!!! :)

I think they look good, Krib. Will be better for them when you can get them into the bigger tank. I think a 30 gal is the minimum size Plus plecos are waste producers :)

Yeah, they will be a in 30g by tommorow. I have always heard it sa 20g minnimum for Bristlenose's, but they are still going in the 30g. Well, unless my mom has me move my tank by the window ( again). If so, that algea grows so fast its scary( yes, even in winter). I really like the pleco's. If the female would be visable , i would give you a pic of her. She has the most strange coloration( even the guy said so). I plan on upping my Filtration soon anyway, so im not worried about waste.

They got moved to the 30g today. I have a 20g filter in with my 30g filter for now. But its only temp.

add a cave some bogwood plenty food and water changes and you will have fry female looks nice and fat anyways good luck with breeding them

I thought she looked pretty fat too! They have lots of Bog wood. And some PVC Pipe. There is also some rock caves and a flower pot cave.
