I arrived home from work last wed morn to find my smaller bristlenose in the outlet of my fluval 3 internal filter. 
He did not seem to be in that far so I was not overly concerned yet! As ususal I fed my fish their breakfast of flakes and after about 15 minutes of no movement from the bristlenose i decided to investigate. I touched his tail but with no avail, I new then it was not good. I shut off the filter and pulled him out (he was well latched on), the impeller had done some damage to its head, ouch. Thankfully my other bristlenose is too big to get into the outlet!
