Hi Guys

Hope you can help!

I have two Bristlenose Plecos in a 80 Gallon Tank. (as well as other fish!).

Everything's been fine for over 12 months. However I had a problem with white spot 4 weeks ago and although this now seems to have cleared I yesterday noticed that one of the Bristles had disspeared off one of the Plecs. Also, there is now a white fluffy growth in its place. The White growths appear on several other bristles and I now obviously worried as to whats happening - it looks like a fungal infection.

The water tests show no problems with Ammonia / Nitrate / Nitrite - the PH is at 6.9 (possibly a bit low). Have two external canister filters and a UV with recently replaced bulb!

Does anyone know what may have caused the problem? And perhaps how I should solve it? Im not sure I should treat the tank to another remidy having only really just been treated for white spot?

Cheers
Dan

If you have Carbon in your filtration it would have removed pretty much all trace of the white-spot remedy that you added previously. You should however, remove carbon media when adding remedy treatments as they are quickly removed by the carbon. Remove the carbon from your filter system and add the anti-fungal treatment with dosage as stated on the product. When everything has cleared up and returned back to normal, place new carbon media into your filtration system.
