The term 'bristle nose' is widely used as the common name for the genus, Ancistrus, of which, PlanetCatfish currently has a database of 147 different kinds. I think the most commonly found 'bristle nose' in the hobby is Ancistrus cf. cirrhosus, which does not have an L number.
