Bristlenose Jumped Out Of The Tank

I had two bristlenose's. One died so i decided to put the other into my 40 gallon tank. The next day i was looking for him and found him all stiff on the floor. What could have made him do this? sad:

He may have been watching too much escape from LA?, and tried to jump the wall?

OR

my fish do jump when spooked, he may have been sucking onto the glass near the top of the tank, while sleeping, and another fish whizzed by in the dark and scared him, my frogs used to do that to the tiger barbs and platties when they cohabited in the same tank. as the frogs needed to surface for air, and the fish were asleep near the surface, and can't see in the dark.

it may have just had a feeling to jump and did, with killer circumstances after.

Moral of the story:
Ensure you tanks have lids, that are tightly sealed.
