bristlenose catfish help

I've got two bristlenose catfish, and the bigger of the two has over the past few days some of his skin in patches and stripes has kinda faded colour from black to a pale yellowish colour

he seems happy and healthy, the other catfish and all the other fish seem fine

just another thing, he has been growing pretty quickly since we got him

I just found out my girlfriend put some aquarium salt in yesterday

could he be "burnt" because of that???

I know catfish aren't tolerant of salt, but I'm not exactly sure about any outward signs they'd show as a result of it. Is it possible that the salt could have landed on the fish? That would burn any fish for sure, and it's possible since catfish are always laying on the bottom.

Yes salt really shouldn't be used with bottom feeders such as catfish.
