I have a male and a female albino bristlenose and was wondering if there is anything i can do to help them to breed. I have them in a community tank with a slate tunnel. The male seems to go in the slate tunnel more but he also goes in a small tunnel of a plastic log ornament. I have seen eggs in the tank but the male didnt really guard them and they just floated around the bottom of the tank until they disappeared prosumably eaten but i think the eggs were not fertile or something. Can you suggest anything to get them to breed succesfully in a community tank.

the best thing to do it condition them with a good diet of fresh vegetables such as courgette or even potatoes or peas and also include meat in the diet such as bloodworm and brineshrimp i used to do this for a week and every night i did a wee 10% cold water change to help trigger spawning and also so my water doesnt get polluted from all the food, and by the end of the week i had my male bristlenose in his cave fanning eggs ;)

:good: Thanks for the help I will give it a try, also i heard that adding some rain water might help them to mate is it true?

Also will the bristlenose get any bloodworm with it being a community tank it will get eaten quite quickly. :fish:
