072405_8_inch_bristle_worm_017.jpgThis may be the answer to the missing fish in our tank lately... There are more small ones and one more large one that we know of. Don't know how the picture is going to turn out but this thing was over 8 inches long and not fully extended. I thought Ron was going to have to get a fishing pole to get this thing out of the tank!  Until we catch the rest there wont be any new additions to the tank.

Yikes...so...I was right about the disappearing animals.....wow. WTG. SH

wierd, although I thought I read in Calfo's book that bristleworms didnt eat fish, that it was just a myth? Anyone read that, or am I imagining things?

The "common" bristles dont eat fish, but there are hundreds of undescribed species that grow up to 3 feet in length and would eat small fish if they got the chance to envelope them.

SH~ yes you were right that something was eating the fish. I have found no sign of anything else that could be doing it .The fish that I have had come up missing are a diamond back goby, cardinal, a very small green goby that was adorable and very expensive, and a six line wrasse that I bought to eat bristle worms, kinda ironic dont you think. I know every were you read and everything you hear says they wont eat fish.... I beg to differ. The smaller ones I am not worried about but I will say we are fishing until we catch the other large one.
