do female bristlenose plecs get bristles?

if not then i think ive solved my breeding prob! there possible both male

generally no but some do but to a lesser extent than males.

Sometimes females do have small bristles but they are from what I've seen very small stubby looking things or like thick hair than the fleshy "dreds" of males.

If they are going to get any , females get a row of little tiny bristles alont their top lip....

If there are any at all heading up the center line of the nose it's a male
