i really want to get my plecs to breed i have a male and a female in the same tank i have loads of hiding spaces is there anything more i can do the male spend most of his time on the back of the tank and the female sits in her cave.

Hi michelle and neil you would recognise me if you saw me. i'm not really sure, altho since i've moved house and the tank got a major redesign and the water temp has dropped a little due to being downstairs rather than third floor flat mine haven't stopped producing eggs altho this is my first sucessful spawning.hope this helps and anythings worth a try

I didn't do anything more than add some breeding caves (ceramic pinecones) to my tank and they were off. The chosen cave was in the middle and back of the tank and in a position where the enterance was partially obstructed from view.
