Another female bristlenose of mine has laid her eggs, and once again, no sign of a male guarding the eggs, i think my males are all out in the fish tank town getting drunk cos none of them seem to be doing thier job

if they feel safe in the tank the males will go get some food then go back in cave but he will be near by

cheers Dane

Yep, but not mine, they are no where near the eggs, and i sat there for ages but they all at the local pub

dont know whats up with them, this is the second lot thats done this :(

myn trapped the female in the cave until she layed her eggs then the male has been looking out for them ever since, i got these as a trio off dane and they seem to be doing great

you might find that you have dominance problems with that many BN's - We had the problem with our zebs - the males were always fighting over dominance so much so that the spawns kept getting abandoned and or eaten by other males. :(

see how it goes, but you might want to find out the spawning fish and sell the others - a group of 2 males and 3 females should be good ;)

There is only 3 big males and 2 big females now, all the others are only small, not even 3"..

Today in the 4ft tank, there is 2 of the males in barnicals (one in which the second batch of eggs are... so that sounds good i guess.

The 3rd male is still in the other tank on its own guiding the first batch of eggs which i transfered due to not been gaurded, but then i put this male in there and since he has been gaurding them..

I will see how it goes and see what happens.

Thanks :)
