As you probably know already, they get to around 5" - so it really just depends what else you are keeping in the tank and if that's going to push it over the stocking capacity.
Remember BN plecs are fairly high waste producers.

fairly high? They're poop machines! Extremly high! :p
only recomend B-noses in 20gals minimum,

EEK! does it help if my tank is really heavily planted ? inhabitans would probably be 8 tetras max shrimps snails .... :) hmmm how fast do they grow btw ? and how do they handle the temp if around 28-29 deg celcius ?

i wouldnt think it helps if plants are in the tank.
Stick with Ottos

i would spread your search out and get some otos, oh what about a trio of corydoras :dunno:

i only work in LT's so how many lts is 13 gallons :dunno:

toddles of to work it out.......................

Oops - wrong post wrong section :*)

we used to breed them in a 12uk gal... 3 adult and around 50 fry at any one time - we just had to clean the filters regularly - one with some tetras will be fine.

plants will help as they use ammonia (or a form of) straight from the water I believe - so helping the cycle.

They will be 4-5 inches (full grown) after about 8 onths - given the right conditions and feed well.

While small, ottos aren't really suitable for a small tank as they are quite sensative and are not too keen on fluctuations - they need a stable enviromet.

4-5 inches, thats pretty long.... i wonder... should i go with the bristelnose pleco ..... the plec will be pretty hard to catch once hes inside the tank :( i should look for a juvi plec :p how does the bristlenose handle temperature btw ?

they will be fine from 26-30.

a bristle nose in a 12gal is easy to catch...

Put one (or in my case 2) in a 100gal corner tank - and that is going to be hell

they are only in there temporarly!
